Well, in case you all have forgotten let me refresh your memory about this Abbas-Mustan, Abhishek Bachchan fight. Long long time ago, one day the Junior Bachchan abandoned the director duo at the last minute during the making of a film. Priyanka Chopra and Bobby Deol were supposed to be his co-stars. The cold war that followed saw Abbas-Mustan reportedly refusing to direct a film for Abhishek’s father Amitabh Bachchan’s home production. And since then the men in white have strictly maintained their distance from the Lady Ash’s husband. They have so far never worked on a film together.
But guess what I heard recently… A little birdie told me that the Abbas-Mustan and Mr Bachchan Jr have finally buried the hatchet and are all set to work on a new project together. What’s more, the film is supposed to be an official remake of the Hollywood blockbuster The Italian Job. The filmmakers have got the rights transferred and have made the appropriate changes to please the Indian audiences. Even Abhay Deol maybe a part of the film as the secong lead. Well, with so many fights in Bollytown, it’s rather nice to hear of people patching up. And if that makes for a good film… well, Juicy Mausi doesn’t mind at all!

Tom Cruise offered to help complete HEATH LEDGER’s final film role – but was rejected by director TERRY GILLIAM because he did not know the late star. Ledger was filming scenes for The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus before his death from a prescription drug overdose in January 2008. Gilliam faced a dilemma of whether to scrap the project or carry on with another actor taking on Ledger’s role. Instead, he signed up three – Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell all agreed to play different versions of Ledger’s character Tim in the movie.
Gilliam reveals that Cruise also put his name forward to complete the film – but was turned down because he had not known Ledger when he was alive. He tells Total Film magazine, “I’m not sure if it was Tom or his agent (who put Cruise forward for the role). I know there was a period when Tom’s agents were keen. The thing is, I was only interested in people who were friends of Heath. Simple as that. I wanted to keep it in the family.”

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan will return to the small screen after a gap of four years to host the third season of Colors’ popular reality show “Bigg Boss”, a well-placed source confirmed Friday. ” ‘Bigg Boss’ is set to get bigger. And Amitabh Bachchan is going to take over as host from Shilpa Shetty, who hosted it last season,” the source told. The Indian version of the popular British reality show “Big Brother”, “Bigg Boss” will have celebrity contestants locked into a house under the surveillance of multiple cameras for a period of three months without any contact with the outside world.
Periodic eliminations will take place based on voting by housemates and the audiences. The show is expected to go on air around December. Big B, who had a super hit stint as the host of “Kaun Banega Crorepati” for two seasons, will be seen on the show on the days of the elimination. The inaugural “Bigg Boss” show in 2006 had Arshad Warsi as the host.

Lo and behold! Just when we thought all ways of bringing about a truce between the warring Khans were closed, a new door opens. Though it’s tentative, there’s a good chance that Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan might come face to face sooner than we expect.
While their encounter on the cricket field (courtesy IPL) could be years away, the two Khans might come together for another kind of premier league – Dance Premier League. It’s a reality show on TV that will have dance teams from different states and zones.
The teams will be endorsed by different celebrities and the buzz is that top popular stars from Bollywood have been approached for the show. No prizes for guessing that the list also includes SRK and Salman. Each star will cheer his or her team and if SRK and Sallu’s teams clash, the two stars would inevitably come face to face. What happens next better be seen than written about. The television channel planning the programme is not revealing the names of any stars yet.

Shilpa Shetty, the sizzling hot sexy bombshell of bollywood who has been dating UK based business tycoon Raj Kundra for a while, is all set to marry him by the end of this year. The revelation about Shilpa Shetty’s impending marriage came to light when his father Surendra Shetty filed an application for the release of his passport before a Surat fast-track court. Sources say that Shilpa Shetty’s father has requested the court to allow him to go out of country for the wedding of his daughter which is likely to take place between 1st September and 31st December this year. The passports of Shilpa’s father and mother had been impounded by the court in a case of extortion filed by a Surat-based businessman in 2007.
Though Shilpa Shetty has never publicly spoken about her impending marriage with Raj Kundra, but there has been buzz about this for a while in bollywood. Sources say that after marriage with Raj Kundra, Shilpa Shetty will finally settle in London itself and will leave India for ever. In fact, Shilpa Shetty has already started spending her time more and more in Britain than in India. The recent acquisition of stake in V8 Gourmet Group food business in the UK was an indication of the coming fact that Shilpa Shetty wanted to finally settle in the firang country.
Shilpa Shetty also has plans to open a chain of restaurants in the UK that will serve Indian meals, especially chicken tikka masala and other mughlai cuisine liked by the UK and other European clientele. Shilpa’s plans to go whole hog with her expansion plans around Christmas in UK. It may be recalled that during her stay at the house of ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ reality show in UK with Jade Goody, Shilpa Shetty had been accused of not being able to cook the chicken properly. In fact, this had become a contentious issue between Shilpa and other inmates of the Big Brother house.
Now, some goes to the extent of saying that Shilpa Shetty’s chain of restaurants in the UK is a sort of a tribute to the memory of Jade Goody, who was mainly responsible for the uncooked chicken controversy, and also indirectly responsible for Shilpa’s win of the reality show (Jade aroused sympathy in favor of Shilpa). However, Shilpa Shetty’s connection with India will continue to be very strong due to her spa chain in Mumbai and ownership of Jaipur cricket team in IPL. Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra have invested crores in Jaipur team and would not leave that without supervision.

However Kajol reportedly refused Aparna’s offer because she is already committed to doing Karan Johar’s movie based on the Hollywood flick Stepmom with Kareena Kapoor, a film that will go on floors later this year, and a part of which will be shot in USA.

The celebrity couple Jay-Z and Beyonce are presently known to be lazing around in Dubrovnik, Croatia, enjoying their vacation. The couple were dragged in to the news columns this week when a nasty scuffle had ensued between members of the paparazzi and Beyonce’s bodyguard as well as Jay-Z.
Charges were slapped against Jay-Z as well as the bodyguard by the photographers, after the ruckus had rose among the concerned people on the evening of August 18, while the celebrity were shielded away from being pictured. When eager photographers got way too enthusiastic and ambitious in their effort to click the R&B singer and Jay-Z, Beyonce’s bodyguard is said to have thought better to straighten the lot out.
A footage of the incident is said to have showed the bodyguard, who goes by the name Julius, almost wrestling in the alleyway with the team of persistent paparazzi as the couple made to leave a restaurant they were dining at. In the clip, Jay-Z is heard urgently urging Julius to come away, by shouting, “Let’s go, let’s go, don’t worry about it” and with plea filled “Stop stop stop.”
According to sources, the charges are said to have been dropped now. Three of the photographers had alleged after the incident that Julius had issued threats to them and even attacked physically, knocking one of them down. Charges of damaging of properties (the cameras) were also on the allegations list. It has been revealed that an undisclosed amount of fine could have led to things being sorted out between the clashing parties.

Ritu, who designed the costume Ekta was supposed to wear for the national costume round says, “I’m disappointed. What’s shocking me more is the fact that she couldn’t even make it to the top 15.” The designer, who considered Ekta a deserving beauty adds, “She had everything that’s needed to make a mark in the international arena, from a good height to an enviable figure,” adds Ritu.
Ask her what she thinks went wrong, and Ritu answers diplomatically, “I can only blame it on the circumstances. Maybe, the judges didn’t find what they were looking out for in Ekta or perhaps, it was a just a bad day for her.” Ekta’s mother has said that blonde beauties are being preferred in the International arena. Does Ritu agree? “No, I strictly disagree with this view. Indian beauties have been considered hot and capable internationally. So, one cannot hold the ‘preference’ game responsible for Ekta’s hard luck.”
Would this defeat add pressure on Miss India, Pooja Chopra, who’ll soon be seen vying for the Miss World crown? “Well, it will definitely bring her under the scanner. However, one must also realise that it’s just a beauty contest and winning and losing was not such a big deal initially. But, with commercialisation taking over, it adds to the pressure on the contestant. Their individual victories take a backseat.”
“Ekta’s got it all! You might just see her winning some other pageant. Also, you never know, you might catch her making waves in Bollywood shortly,” says the designer, who’s all praises for Ekta.
